User Experience Designer

Portland or Salem, OR

The Math Learning Center (MLC) is seeking a UX Designer to join our team in our Portland or Salem, Oregon offices. 

MLC is a nonprofit organization serving the education community. Our mission is to inspire and enable individuals to discover and develop their mathematical confidence and ability. We offer innovative and standards-based curriculum, resources, and professional development. Educators and students use our products and services throughout the United States and in many international locations.

The User Experience Designer will work with marketing, product management, and development leaders to design and develop the vision for the user experience, serving as a customer advocate to ensure the highest level of intuitive, useful design and customer satisfaction. The UX Designer will work in a team environment to share information and collaborate on solutions.

What you will do:

  • Design and execute usability studies and other user research, utilizing your broad knowledge of user experience and design.
  • Conduct user testing and other user-facing activities to improve design, interaction, and content.
  • Design and validate:
    • Online discovery of The Math Learning Center’s products
    • Online purchase of products
    • Online support for product purchases
    • Online support for product education and use
    • Physical vs digital product crossover use (apps and online resources)
    • Physical product design, packaging, and storage

How you are qualified:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Design, Computer Science or a related field
  • 3 - 5 years of related experience
